i second this. folding is how i found MR, and reading the orginal catch me thread between dreadnought and atzyman is what got me going down the road to addiction...
Once I hit the one million points mark, I vow to start folding under the name Dreadnought and contribute any future points to help him climb the ranks to the lofty position he so rightly deserves!

Very clever naming scheme. This would breathe some new life into the product line and if they updated all of their products simoultaneously, it would cause a wave of sales that would skyrocket their stock.

Agreed.

I was looking at servers on Sun's website (don't know why, because I don't have that kind of money) and I noticed they offer two kinds of keyboards, UNIX and Windows. What's the difference?

Yes, I do, because that's what all of my PC-using friends have. So I have no choice.
Zen.
You can still use your MSN Account with Adium (http://www.adiumx.com/), or Fire for that matter, and it offers a lot more features and the ability to customise.

Cool, cheers for that. I don't want to see the TiBoot replaced anyway. I haven't seen a better computer around. All it needs is a slightly high resolution and I'd say its near perfection (for my use anyway).

Sounds like you have the script running for a dual processor machine on a single processor iMac. You should certainly only be crunching one protein at a time on that computer. So then, how do I correct the situation?

I would be willing to sacrifice some transfer speed for wireless transfers. Even if it takes twice as long, it would be worth it in my eyes. Whats waiting a few minutes in the morning while your ipod transfers wirelessly while eating breakfast and surfin the net on an imac?
The headphones are a good idea, but wouldnt they get lost easily? Someone could steal them and use them with their ipod? And I definatly dont want to be heavy on my head.

Anyone know if a 2 button mouse is in development or on the agenda for Apple anytime soon? I love the sensitivity of my Apple pro mouse, but would prefer a 2 button mouse for playing games. I'm just wondering whether or not to hold out for an Apple 2 button mouse (if one is in the making) or just go out and buy a 3rd party mouse (if there's no such thing in the foreseeable future for Apple). Any recommendations for a 3rd party brand?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I just remembered my dream last night...it was a brand new wireless mighty mouse on apple's main page. The mouse was slightly larger than the current mighty and had parts in the front that were transparent. The whole mouse was rechargable.
And here's the cool part (I don't know how my brain works this well in sleep), there was an orb that you set the mouse in to recharge that is connected via USB to your mac. And that same orb is what contained the wireless receiver for the mac. Then for classrooms there was a big orb, that looked sort of like an iSub, where you could put 12 mice in all at once to recharge them quickly.
I just wanted to post this in case, I have any sort of prophetic powers, so it's on the record. ;)

Apple is widely expected to use Intel's "Woodcrest", or Core 2 Duo Extreme, Processors, in their Xserves.
And, being that Apple was so quick to jump on the 'Core Duo' bandwagon with its iMac and MacBook Pro model lines, it's likely that Apple will use 'Woodcrest' pretty soon in its XServes or Mac Pro product lines...

If you check on the apple.ca 's store page, it says it's updating. I wonder... what's new?
The US store is now down too! New products on a Monday!? Hmm..I guess they could just be updating the store's backend with nothing new coming.

Echoing a comment I saw elsewhere, why doesn't someone just hire this guy. It probably costs more for Apple to sue each person than it would be to hire them and keep them busy fixing these problems internally.
This is one of those nuts who thinks he is for the common good, and has already won lawsuits against movie companies challenging his dvd-decryption software (software doesn't decrpyt and distribute movies illegally, people do) I bet he is VERY careful not to cross the line, and he probably has a great lawyer ;)

I wish people would understand that this program is mainly created so that people who use Linux (don't know if you have heard of it, it has a larger market share than Mac OS X if I remember right  ) can listen to the music which they have purchased.
If Apple would just stop being *******s and port iTunes and Quicktime to Linux we wouldn't have these "problems," which in reality are nothing more than people trying to use Linux. I am totally for that.
I'm not able to use Linux on my new Powerbook because Apple, like usual, won't open up airport extreme card drivers.
Apple, you are ridiculous.

Yep, thats pretty much what I was hoping to see. Hopefully Apple's website on Tuesday bears something akin to this mockup. :)
