Using the latest nightly build of Camino. They've ditched the ugly page tabs and it seems far less buggy to me than FF. I never need to kill the process.

i found this (http://mirror.ati.com/designpartners/media/mobile/mobradeon9000.html) over at ATI's media page for the mobility radeon 9000. Could this be proof of an upcoming powerbook g4 update, or could it just be an older image of a tibook?

If you are running mc68k's folding script from the terminal, open up terminal and type rid. This will uninstall all the folding scripts and current WU's. Then download and install the single processor script. It's the first DMG file listed here (http://calnet.sdsu.edu/mc68k/)
If you are using a different folding client I can't help you but maybe one of the other teammates can...

The Mhz myth is true. When Genentech is able to use a dual 1 Ghz Mac to go 5 times faster than their PC counterparts, and Photoshop up to 90 % faster than a Pentium IV 2.53 Ghz on a dual 1.25 Ghz Mac, the myth is true. Even the Athlon 2.6 Ghz is faster than the 2.8 Ghz Pentium IV. In some instances even the 1.6 Ghz Pentium III is faster than the Pentium IV. Mhz has nothing to do with speed. When your stage is 3 times longer, you have to go three times as fast to catch up.
If your Mac is slower than a PC for any reason on the same application it is because the software hasn't been optimized for the Mac. Write the software developer before you complain about the Mac speed. Get them to develop for Altivec. It makes a world of difference.

Yeah, but they did about the same thing with the "switcher" ads a few years ago. People standing in front of a white background talking about the computer, but never showing it. What was the most memerable thing about those ads? A stoner chick that went "beep beep"?
well you still remember them. so they served their purpose
And to add to the design aspect. That is why all the adverts are using the iMac instead of the mini or macbook pro at this time.
Since the #1 product associated with apple is the iPod, and what computer looks like the iPod, the iMac.
They said the new iMac was created from the same people that brought you the iPod. Hence showing that design will give the most impact or familiarity with something they may already own or definitely what they have seen and read about.
EDIT: What i will say that is odd is that apple seems to not show the URL for the getamac campaign, nor do they own getamac.com from what i can tell.

The reason I use a mac is the software, no Windows can beat OSX! And, as a matter of fact, my mac looks better than any of the pcs my friends have...
Um, no. You are wrong. Just because the Intel machine is 2GHZ doesn't mean squat. Pipelines, stages, all of this matters. Don't assume anything about the quality of a 25 year old architecture. X86 blows crap, and always will.

isn't socialization the entire concept behind MMO's?
It's a bit part of it - players from around the world, together, doing quests, communicating. It's more sociable than sitting on Oblivion for hours I guess. But it is a game at the end of the day and Blizzard have been tried to stress that recently, especially in the tips: "Remember to play outside Azeroth with your friends too" (or something similar).

Can't the police get a warrant for the IP address? I think if they have a warrant above their heads they might "find" a IP address. All the information they get from a xbox or 360 that gets on XBL they HAVE to know the IP.

I was very suspicious of this when I first saw it. But then I went to Ambrosia's website and it was actually there, so I downloaded it just for fun, even though I didn't really believe it. I had a feeling it was an April Fools prank. Then I read the comments on the review on macteens and my doubts were confirmed. I'm running it right now just for fun, though.
It's a very clever prank.

It looks great! As good as your TV allows! But TVs are NOT as good as computer displays.. they're just big, which can be fun. Everything is blurry on a TV--just like TV shows are--and for games, if you can increase the font size and run 640x480, that softness actually is a very slick and console-like look. You can get away with turning detail levels down for speed, and never even notice a difference on TV. But don't expect to view small text and details on a TV.
And Mac OS X System Preferences has some very cool options for controlling the picture on the TV. You can expand the image to extend just off the edges with no black border (good for movies) and you can toggle a "Best for Video" mode which I always turn on. You can even set a different color profile, resolution, and desktop picture used JUST for TV! When you plug into TV and choose Detect Displays from the menu icon (or just sleep and wake), your desktop changes automatically. Very slick.
EDIT: I see you have a PowerBook. That has TV-out built-in. Plug it in and try it--the Mini should look the same. (S-video is better than composite if you have the choice.)
Thanks for the feedback. I've got it running right now over S-VIDEO. DVDs look good as you might expect, but it's pretty much useless for web browsing - on of my biggest goals. In order to even read the text I had to set the display really small and then increase the font on the pages. I think I'll try to find a DVI/I to HDTV cable and see how that looks. Too bad they cost so much just to see if it works. I'd really like to be able to have the TV running on one side of the split screen and have the web on the other side (I have a really big TV).

You should read GameSpot's reviewing system, a 10 today is worth more than a 10 8 years ago, that means that while OoT was a 10 game by 1998 standards, its an 8.9 game today (according to GameSpot), keep in mind as well that its a re-release.
I know but it is still retarded. Basically, they are saying that todays games are better than the classics and confusing the public in the process. Many would argue that God of War 2 is not any better than A Link to the Past but different strokes I guess.
They kept the VC games on the same scale as modern games. What is wrong with this picture? Wario Ware isn't as good as any of the games I mentioned above and yet it scored higher.

If that is indeed the case, then we'll have to wait and see how other Itanium2 systems perform as they become available, because I think HP is the only company that makes them at the moment(?).
Even if the int and fp results were 200 too high though, those are still really impressive scores for only 1GHz. And Intel's Itanium compiler is getting better all the time...

is anyone still active on SETI and here? i noticed the top guy has 10 computers running SETI!!! that's insane!
I finish in December 2005 with a little over 12,000 work units under the old system.
I was just getting ready to make a cool SETI Farm starting with 10 CPUs. My concept was a hanging MB system. I planned on sharing power supplies and booting from USB flash memory devices. I had envisioned expanding my system by 10 CPUs each year until I had 50 on line. Yes, the electrical bill did concern me a bit.
Anyhow, the SETI folks changed to the system. I lost interest and haven't done anything since then with it. Maybe someday that will change.
