I'd have to agree; the real tip-off is the space between "Power" and "Book"... (i.e. it reads "Power Book" not "PowerBook" as it should). Great piece of wishful thinking, though...

Surprise surprise! Background downloading! WOO! The PS3 is getting better and better throughout each update. You know, I like seeing software updates. Makes it feel like there's always something new about the system everytime I update. :D

hopefully apple makes safari 1.3 optimized for the g4 and g5 for 10.3 and 10.4. I'll try this firefox optimized version and report later.

You seriously have to restart your Windows machine to change permissions? Yikes! Learn something new every day, I guess.

Go to the sorce:
www.apple.com/store
Or the many other fine outlets:
www.macwarehouse.com
www.maczone.com
www.macmall.com
I hate amazon.com they suck, and I even live in Seattle, HA!
You'll find that most Apple products (esp. their computers) don't neccerly will change price from one dealer to another.

Yes, congratulations to both! And kudos to Khaldei for being the first member of the team to hit the one million mark. It was close, but you just beat BlackAdder to the milestone...

It is on Bloomberg news: Apple will use IBM's processors that are being introduced today (reported by AP). It is not clear yet which Apple products will use the IBM PowerPC 970. It is a 64-bit (32-bit compatible).
However, there is no official word from either IBM or Apple.
Well, I feel pretty sure now about this move and very happy because I really think it sounds wise on Apple's part (of course, what do I know) - just my impression.

Bad form. Just because you disagree with something, doesn't give you the right to close the thread.

Yea, OSX uses libraries, but not specifically poorly designed libraries like winblows. .dll files are attributed to the majority of crashes on a PC. The structure of windows .dll and libraries in Unix are totally different. And yes, the X 86 structure sucks. ;)

It was only one day (I got to the party a bit late), and if you read carefully, what I posted says something different than what you posted. Relax.

I don't know, I want something that can do it all (almost)
I see it working with your iPod in your bookbag through bluetooth, for file transfer, or use the iPod as a major harddrive. you could easily download your books to read on it & save your emails & other files on the iPod....
so I want something I could use to "sketch" pictures on, read novels, write email, take class notes, etc etc...
infact, class notes could be very very cool. never having to remember if you have the right folder, and being able to print from any printer at school, especially if you had inadvertantly forgot to print your assignment before getting to class.
but that may be too fancy huh? you'd certainly wouldn't have extra paper to lend out

Hmm. Try contacting Microsoft, notify them that your 360 was stolen, and ask if they can do anything about tracking the IP received when your gamertag is signed on.
That is strange -- albeit fortunate -- that they only took your 360.
On the subject of strange, check this out. My friend was parked at a Taco Bell. He left his driver's door unlocked, went in to get something to go. He came out to find that his passenger side window was smashed. Someone had broken in, taken his stereo, but left the faceplate for the stereo IN THE PASSENGER SEAT.

That's interesting ;) I was at Stoke on Trent when I realised I no longer want my PSP.
I've got a feeling this will be like the Dreamcast for me. In that I didn't really care much when it was popular (aka expensive), but as soon as the price dropped and friends were selling them off for stupidly little amounts of money that beared no correlation to the number of games and accessories bundled I was in there like a shot. I love the system but there just didn't feel like a rush to own one.

The ATI Radon 9700 certainly blows away the GForce 4 MX for both Mac and PC. For PC, it even blows away the GForce 4 Ti4600 in some tests. Overall, I would definitely buy the ATI 9700 over the GForce 4MX if you could afford its heafty pricetag.

It can infect the mac partition? oh well there goes my 'theory'
It can infect the mac partition, but only if it can see it. Which, normally, wouldn't be the case. Mac partitions are HFS and Windows can't normally see HFS partitions. They would need a program like MacDrive installed.

Wow, there's like 4 different current threads on Firefox vs. Safari.
As I posted in another thread, Firefox bookmarks synchronizer is much better than the $100 a year Safari solution, especially for people who have to work on a pc at work. And it's free. Using the Bookmarks Synchronizer extension, you point it at your ftp site (I got a free acount at gurble.com) and upload your bookmarks to it. Thereafter, you can have all your Firefox browsers synchronized on different machines, be they linux, windows, or mac.
It's nice to know that Firefox has this ability, too, by installing one of the numerous extensions available for it. However, I get too much value from my (upgraded) .Mac subscription to switch to Firefox from Safari.

MacCoaster:
I'm a little confused what you are saying, but the PPC-970 does support two 32-bit channels as a "FSB" and each clocks at 900mhz. This is a little like how Rambus memory clocks at obscene rates, but only has 8-bit channels.
In any case, there is overhead on the FSB so that the actual rate at which data arrives is 800mhz, not 900mhz (1 bit in 9 is overhead).
This could be paired with dual DDR-400 channels, but I don't know if Apple will go the road... right now DDR-400 isn't even finalized and most all of the boards using it have problems with stability. Notably the nForce2 does support dual channels of DDR-400, but I don't know if anyone has tested it yet.
There is also the possiblity that Apple may pair the fast bus with dual channel DDR-333, not ideal but more practical. They may even run the FSB slower than 900mhz. Who knows? Not us!
Edit: For all we know, Apple will use RDRAM. They could even use a custom nForce2... who knows.
