This brings back good memories of standing in the queue of Regents Street opening - we wll wanted iPod's or iPod Mini's at the time. Rumours in the queue were spreading like wildfire.
We all got Luckybags (well the first 250 ppl anyway) and we loved it. The atmosphere was friendly - StarBucks even offered free coffee!! :)

Good times. My brother and I are still on the Regents Street minisite :) I think we only got about 2hours sleep that night. very cold November I'll tell ya!

Were we the last store to offer the LuckyBags?

it's absolutely out of this world. takes some getting used to, but is very configurable. i enjoy using it, and it goes with a powermac or iMac as far as looks go quite seamlessly. prima, prima, but as i said, much money. 50-60$

I have one too...and love it. I like the Pro Mouse as well. I like that the whole mouse is the button. It is soooo lazy.

Instead of a new Screen from Apple I would like to see the 23in get a lower price or a res. boost.

The TiBook gets mighty hot with just a single 800 mhz processor. Unless they have a new processor up their sleeves, I don't see this happening.

Hehehe ok well sounds like Ill star folding on my ibook aswell, last question(sorry for being anal) but is folding 24/7 on an ibook a good idea(with high temps and all) or should I only folding for short periods at a tim ie 8 or 9 hours, sorry fo being dumb I just dont wanna fry me new beloved ibook :p

All the answers are in the FAQ thread, and this question is asked about once a week, so, here again the same answer: Your laptop can handle the heat, but if you leave it folding 24/7 it's a good idea to get a coolingpad. Also it's recommended to leave the processorspeed on automatic in energysaver. Welcome to folding!! You to Abstract, and nice setup, despite that it is a wintel box

I would be interested to hear how the old imac is selling. If it is selling well enough - Apple should continue by all means to keep it in the lineup- at least until it can get the emac price under $1000 US.

It wouldn't be too hard to up it to 700mhz and drop the price (one would think) to $699. I dunno about dropping a G4 in the model when you have the emac already.

I would love to see an under $1000 CDN mac- about $629 US.

    i'd picture a 60, 80, 120 GB HD line, with the RAM being 256, 512, 512.

i really dont see Apple maxing out the RAM as a base config.

As you can plainly see, that was joke. Why is it that people completely misunderstand all the time? Oh, I know. You did it on purpose!

EDIT: It's no wonder why I call myself Shrek, cuz I knew this was gonna happen eventually. :(

I mean if Apple did make a cell with Moto then it obviously would be called the iPhone.....

Uh, like duh. Read the title of this thread if you wanna know more.

    :D

scem, I think in due time the price of Apple's hardware will come down. Take a look at the prices of the Macintosh/Apple product line. The Macintosh II was valued at I think over $6000. The G4/G3 motherboard was worth up to $3500 I think. Now, the Dual 1.25GHz model sells for around $3300, if you don't feel like chugging in THAT much RAM.

My guess is that in a couple of years Apple's PowerMacs will be reduced to near equivalent prices as when the first dual GHz PowerMacs came out, topping out at $3000.

I'm sorry about that double post it won't let me delete them and things went crazy for me there for a couple moments and I accidentally pressed the back and forward arrow.

I feel that Macs are competitively priced now. I just configured a Dell which I feel is the cheapest of the major name brand PC's and also know for there lack of quality. I ended up with a 2Ghz PC no monitor with similar hardware except no firewire and less expansion possibilities in the future because of used up PCI slots etc. for $1,288. I made the comparison to a Dual 867 and modified the Apple config. when I couldn't make the two match any other way. I personally feel that OS X and the whole Mac experience is worth the difference for a computer that will without a doubt whip the pants off that Dell and continue to do it after it the Dell is dead and gone.

I did the same thing with a 2.4Ghz Compaq and it has Firewire and it came up to $1,455. I repeat myself again in everything I said above about the Dual867 being a better deal because of OSX and I still believe it would be faster at most tasks especially multitasking and it still having a longer life without failure.

my old lab still has a few computers contributing. i am nervous about installing on the computers at my current place because they are quite old and ppl need all the CPU cycles they can get. in the future i will upgrade to some core2 minis if they ever come out. i would love to hack into the library computers at the university but it more trouble than its worth both in time and potential trouble

glad to see some new super-folders stepping up like 4jna and ppl continuing folding who dont have many resources

All Files on All Drives unless you specify otherwise in the control panel. Pardon me, System Preferences Panel. Been using Macs too long, I still call em CDEFs.

    Thanks. :)

Preordered Tiger from Amazon.co.uk tonight and ordered some new Seagate 300gb drives... am looking forward to giving my Mac a face-lift.

I own, and like, both of these games. Once you get past the obvious observation that they are both off-road arcade racers, there's not much more validity to a head-to-head comparison than there is to comparing Ridge Racer and NFS:Carbon, both of which feature really shiny cars racing on roads.

    It has NO online features.

A couple of days ago, we had some sort of confusion regarding the Wii version of Blazing Angels (360 and PS3) and the possibility of a multiplayer mode, be it in the form of WiFi or full-blown online play. We're sad to share this with you but Ubisoft just dismissed these speculations.

We checked back Ubisoft's official UK site and amazingly, it has been updated and any reference to multiplayer play has been removed. This then brings us to Pokemon Revolution as the first and only video game on the Wii, as of yet, that will have the above-mentioned feature.

    http://wii.qj.net/Ubisoft-No-online-play-for-Blazing-Angels-Wii/pg/49/aid/85153

After SNK’s Ben Herman made us all cry with his claim that there might not be any third-party online Wii games in yesterday saw an optimistic round of counter-gossip.

Nintendic says the rumours started with a Wi-Fi logo appearing on games site IGN next to Ubisoft’s Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII game. Meanwhile, NintendoWiiFanboy.com claimed that online development kits had been sent out, fuelling the fire.

But no. Wii-UK took the novel step of actually asking the publisher for the true story. Their response: no online multiplayer. Bah. Apparently the first Wii online game is still set to be those pesky Pokemon.

    http://www.wiiwii.tv/2007/03/06/blazing-angels-is-online-wait-oh-no-its-not/

Wow, could SNK be telling *gasp* the truth!!¿¡¡¿¡¡¿

    Wii Online Am Cry..

    thanks guys

i'm actually leaving the lab next week that gives all of my points. so time will tell how long all these points will continue to come in. my guess would be at least until the end of the fall semester (december)

which means we need to get some more people folding! :)

Firefox 1.0 RC is pretty cool. There is a lot of new features added since 0.9.3. Firefox as live bookmarks, the address bar changes color when you visit a https site, the find (using /) now has a mini gui on the bottom.

I really like it. I hope safari engineers are looking at this to make sure they don't get out done.

Definitely worth the download or upgrade.

The 7455 & 7445 are power sucking monsters that still use the .18 SOI process - and about 20-30 Watts of power each @ 1GHz.

It would be nice, but most likely not until the .13 or sub .10 stuff comes out. But the MHz increase this will allow also kill a lot of the power reduction from the smaller process.

I love my Mighty Mouse, I've never had any problems with it, and I would love it for it to be wireless! :)
